2008 S0NOMA COUNTY HARVEST FAIR “BEST OF CLASS” AWARD WINNER. Merlot from the renowned Pellegrini Family Vineyards. Elegant and restrained, and has really benefitted from 20 months of aging in a combination of American and Hungarian oak barrels. Plump and voluptuous with a long, velvety finish. With a nose of black cherries and allspice that continues right onto the palate, this is a wine with a rich and robust core that should be served with leaner cuts of meat. A great deal of care went into the production of this wine, and we feel it is representative of the best Merlot that Alexander Valley has to to offer.
